In 2020 the Government of Mongolia and the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly selected and honored the Top 100 Enterprises making a real contribution to the country’s social and economic development. Having ranked among the top 30 of the Top 100 Enterprises for five consecutive years, the company improved its result in 2020 to 23rd place.

Over the past year MCS Coca-Cola has carried out many projects and programs to make Mongolia’s name known around the world, contribute to the country’s development and broaden the tax base. Among them:

  • Since 2006 MCS Coca-Cola has provided continuous support for the development of basketball, investing MNT 3.6 billion in the sport over that period.
  • In 2018 the company awarded MNT 20 million to the national team that made Mongolia’s name in the history of 3x3 basketball and opened a brand-new chapter in the history of team sports in the country. That support helped the Mongolian 3x3 basketball team win the honored titles of Asian champion and one of the world’s top eight teams, and the team is now competing for the right to take part in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

In previous years the Top 100 Enterprises were selected on the basis of taxes paid, sales revenue, number of employees, profit and assets; from this year, corporate social responsibility has also been taken into account alongside those indicators.

MCS Coca-Cola has practiced corporate social responsibility since the day it was founded, and it considers it essential that its public initiatives for the common good — and the donations and sponsorship that deliver them — are friendly to the environment and beneficial to people and society.

  • In 2020 the company donated more than MNT 100 million in support of the National Emergency Management Agency and the Ministry of Health, which were working on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • In 2020 it commissioned a gas-fired boiler that eliminated 100% of raw coal use, cutting annual coal consumption by 7,000 tonnes.
  • Every year the company provides environmentally friendly biodegradable waste bags free of charge to the administrations of specially protected areas, in order to protect fresh water resources and improve waste management so as to reduce pollution of the natural environment. It also provides continuous support for student education, public health and vulnerable social groups.
