Water Stewardship

Efficient Water Use

Since our founding we have implemented successive programs to protect and responsibly use groundwater resources. These initiatives are aligned with The Coca-Cola Company’s environmental and sustainability goals, and are directed at safeguarding water resources and passing them on to future generations.

Wastewater Treatment Facility

To protect its water sources, MCS Coca-Cola LLC was the first in its industry to commission a wastewater treatment facility using membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology, in 2010. It treats 2,000 tonnes of water per day to 99% purity, which is then reused for every purpose other than drinking. This reduces our groundwater consumption and creates a circular economy.

Users of Our Treated Water

We supply our treated wastewater to other companies and organizations free of charge, and we invite any organization that wishes to protect its drinking water sources to work with us.
