MCS Coca-Cola Contributes to Reducing Air Pollution

In support of the Government of Mongolia’s resolution on measures to reduce air pollution, Resolution No. 62 on prohibiting the use of raw coal, and the Ulaanbaatar Mayor’s order on prohibiting the use of raw coal in low-pressure boilers, our company has successfully delivered a project to convert the coal-fired steam boilers at its plant to environmentally friendly gas boilers, together with MCS International LLC.

By delivering this project, the company has eliminated the use of around 7,000 tonnes of raw coal a year and is achieving a real reduction in greenhouse gas emissions released into the air.

Under the project the company commissioned eight water-heating boilers with a capacity of 0.6 Gcal/hour from the Japanese company NTEC and four steam boilers with a capacity of 4 tonnes/hour from the Korean company DAEYEOL, together with the associated infrastructure — Mongolia’s first high-capacity gas-fired steam boilers using new, environmentally friendly technology — and has ended the use of raw coal.
