MCS Group Congratulates the Mongolian 3x3 Players Who Represented Asia at the World Cup

The athletes of Mongolia’s national team, Ulaanbaatar Khangarid — who represented their country at the FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Manila, the Philippines, and became the only team to represent Asia in the top eight — returned home today. MCS Group and MCS Coca-Cola congratulated the team on this proud achievement, which put Mongolia’s name into the history of world 3x3 basketball for the first time and opened a brand-new chapter in the history of team sports in the country, and presented them with an award of MNT 20 million.

From 2006 to today, MCS Group — and MCS Coca-Cola in particular — has provided continuous support for the development of basketball in Mongolia, investing a total of MNT 3.6 billion in the sport over that period. L. Myagmarjav, Chief Executive Officer of MCS Coca-Cola, said on the occasion: “The Sprite brand was the first to support 3x3 basketball and to create the conditions for it to take root and grow in Mongolia. Today the Mongolian 3x3 Basketball Federation is ranked fourth in the world, and we are glad to have made a valuable contribution to the team winning the honored titles of Asian champion and one of the world’s top eight teams. Our group will continue to support the athletes who are working to make Mongolia known to the world through sport.”

Mongolia’s national team has every chance of competing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Team members Gotov Tsengunbayar, Davaasambuu Delgernyam, Enkhtaivan Tserenbaatar and Enkhbat Dulguun are ranked 38th, 39th, 47th and 53rd in the world respectively.
